Upsilon Andromedae is a binary star system located 44 light-years from Earth, in the constellation of Andromeda. The UX & Game Design Department’s design system evokes its dual nature by supporting two use cases. First, we use these components to unify our internal deliverables (wireframes, flow documents, prototypes) to create consistency within the company. Second, for certain projects, these elements are extended for clients, into visual design and motion.
The abbrevbiation for Upsilon Andromedae is υ And (or Upsilon And). We use this nomenclature to extend to our own project names, such as ‘uAnd Synthroid.’ This project is still in the early stages, but is a serious internal initiative.
The system has web components and sales-aid components, and all the greats: design principles, best practices, rationales. It will eventually include a number of healthcare-related elements and motion pieces.
